This presentation will describe the different challenges and potential drivers for deploying an IPv6 ready cross-border e-Government service. To do this, an exisiting solution, the STORK platform for the European interoperability of electronic identities, will be used as a base, as an example of a generic service that can be reused by other e-Government services for cross-border authentication. Hence, the STORK solution will be analysed in the context of its applicability to the goals of GEN6 project, and the infrastructure that is being defined to support the cross-border scenario, including the interconnection of the national IPv6 networks, will also be presented.
