Prof. Spyros Denazis received his B.Sc degree in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics, University of Ioannina, Greece, in 1987 and in 1993, he acquired his Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Bradford, UK, working on the performance modelling and evaluation of computer networks. In 1996, he joined Intracom S.A, Greece as project leader where he was involved in a number of ESPRIT and ACTS European projects. In January 1998, he joined Hitachi Europe Ltd, where he worked until 2003 also involved in EU projects. In particular, FAIN (Future Active IP Networks) provided the basis for getting involved in related standardisation activities such as IEEE P1520 and ForCES. Since 2003 he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Patras, Greece. Since then he is leading the research group NAM performing research in the areas of SDN, Identity Management, Autonomic Networking and P2P. Dr. Denazis has published over 60 papers in journals and conferences, he holds one patent and he is the co-editor/author of three books including “Programmable Networks for IP Service Deployment”, Alex Galis, Spyros Denazis, Cornel Klein, Celestin Brou (eds.), Artech House Books.
