Antonio Lioy holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and is Full Professor at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), where he leads the TORSEC group performing research in ICT security.
His current research interests are in the fields of network security (especially optimization and automatic configuration), PKI applications (e-identity and electronic workflows), and policy-based protection of ICT systems.
Professor Lioy participates to several EU-funded projects (the most recent ones being Aspire, e-SENS, Posecco, Stork 2.0, and Tclouds) and is currently the Coordinator of the SECURED one. SECURED creates an environment to off-load security applications from end-user devices to a secure, trusted and programmable network edge device, thus enabling a cybersecurity scenario where end-user protection is uniform and independent of the network connection and terminal actually used.
