Nectarios Koziris is a Professor of Computer Science at the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests include large scale network, computer and storage infrastructures, parallel and distributed systems and algorithms. He has co-authored more than 140 research papers in the area of paralell and distributed systems and received awards and international distinctions for his scientific work. He is serving as the Vice-Chair of the Greek Research and Education Network (GRNET), working for the development of large scale infrastructures (hpc, cloud, networks) for the academic and research community. In his capacity, he is coordinating the development of the open source code Synnefo (http://www.synnefo.org/) for Private/Public IaaS Clouds and the operation of the ~Okeanos cloud by GRNET (http://okeanos.grnet.gr).
