F.-Joachim Westphal has over 25 years of experience in the field of telecommunications. Since 15 years he is a member of different research departments of Deutsche Telekom. His activities are focused on strategies and forward looking work about the development of network architectures. In 2009 he joined Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs) and is responsible for the research group "Network Architecture & Modelling". Recently Mr. Westphal is active in the European research project UNIFY. He has been involved in numerous projects, like IST LION, NOBEL, NOBEL2, ICT MobiThin,ICT SPARC and OFELIA. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 technical conference or journal papers.
